In addition to our ongoing daily work, the EERSS participates and initiates a number of other projects that assist our community.

Blanket Alberta In Warmth Campaign

With the rising cost of utilities, many families cannot afford heating throughout the winter and count on blankets for their main source of warmth. One of our yearly campaigns is Blanket Alberta in Warmth. We collect blankets and give these away to those in need. We also share these blankets with other local organizations that assist crisis victims.

Our goal every year is to collect 5000 blankets. To help reach our goal we are currently looking for places that will allow us to put a donation box in their place of business. This would either be for employees to donate and/or for the general public. These boxes will be emptied as frequently as needed. The Blanket Alberta in Warmth campaign begins in October of every year.

Toys and Trimmings - A Christmas Program

Each year toys and trimmings are  donated to the EERSS from generous Edmontonians and a local charity.

 

These are given out to families that do not meet the  criteria of other agencies.
